El Mandado began in 1989, when founders Marco and Ana Roldan began knocking on doors in a Cary trailer park, selling tortillas to Latino residents out of the back of a Ford van. Today, El Mandado is not only the foremost Latin American grocery in the Triangle; it’s also a community gathering point, where friends can meet to eat lunch, initiate money transfers, get legal services, buy clothes, cell phones, and party supplies, and more.
